October 2006 - Dorset Schools Masterclass
P H Warr plc was invited to present
at the Institute of Directors 2006 Masterclass, hosted
in conjunction with Dorset Enterprise and Skills on 18th
October.
All the local schools were encouraged
to bring along 10 pupils to undertake Master classes
with P H Warr plc, Design Group and Bournemouth University.
80+ pupils were told why they should consider a career in surveying, the route to becoming chartered and the various work opportunities available at P H Warr plc.
The company set a Car Park Challenge
for pupils to design, construct and cost a multi-storey
car park model using the provided materials. The task
proved to be great fun with some very imaginative models
constructed. |

September 2006 – Health and
Safety drinks reception at the Harbour Heights Hotel, Sandbanks
Three new members have joined the team at P H Warr plc with remits to head up the Health and Safety division. Yvonne Lynam joins as the new Health and Safety Manager, Julie Derham and Eamon Togher join as Assistant Health and Safety Advisors.
P H Warr plc marked these appointments by hosting a drinks reception for more than 60 property professionals at the Harbour Heights Hotel, Sandbanks, Poole. |
|
The reception enabled local businesses to meet our new Health and Safety team and find out more about our ability to offer Property and Construction Surveying services in the South. The evening proved to be a great success and an excellent opportunity to make new contacts.
P H Warr plc has full capability of acting as Planning Supervisor to coordinate the relevant requirements under CDM. The company would of course welcome the opportunity of advising you or your clients on any Health and Safety matters and if you were unable to attend our reception we would be pleased to provide you with more information on our services or to arrange a meeting to discuss needs in more detail.
“We were delighted with the response to our drinks reception and look forward to hosting the next South West event in the new year”,
confirmed Managing Director Philip Warr.
The Civic Trust – Award Winners 2006
Commendation:
Greater London | Southwark | Belvedere Place | Friendship House
| Commissioned by the London Hostels Association, this high density accommodation for working people and students consists of 180 bed-sits with shared facilities, created from a simple palette of materials crisply and intelligently detailed. Utilising a Brownfield and heavily urban site, alongside a raised railway line, this is a delightful building. The façade facing the railway is clad in zinc, accented with windows, using white render to refract light off the walls. The water garden creates an oasis of calm in the bustling neighbourhood. |
