Dr Gordon Page CBE DL

Chairman (non-executive)

Best known as Chairman of Cobham Group plc until 2008 having been originally appointed to the Board in 1990, Gordon Page joined Cobham as Managing Director of Flight Refuelling Limited having previously been Commercial Director, military engines, of Rolls-Royce plc. He was appointed Deputy Chief Executive in 1991, Chief Executive in 1992 and Chairman in November 2001.

He is Chairman of Hamworthy plc and Air Tanker Holdings Limited, a non-executive director of Lockheed Martin UK Holdings Limited and a Governor of Canford School. He is Pro Chancellor of Cranfield University and is a past president of the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Society of British Aerospace Companies Ltd and of the Chartered Management Institute.  He is a past Chairman of the Government's Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Industrial Development Advisory Board.

He was awarded the CBE in 2000, an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Cranfield University in 2003, and an Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from Bournemouth University in 2009 and was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Dorset in 2006.

A significant part of Gordon’s role in 2009 has been to ensure that the Board takes the decisions necessary to adapt the company to the new economic world in which we all now live and operate whilst maintaining profitable growth.

Philip Warr BSc (Hons) FRICS

Chief Executive

Philip Warr originally established the practice in 1992 and has pioneered its development from thereon. He is responsible for business strategy and overseeing the continued development of the company which to date has included the acquisition and integration of Trinick and Hamilton H Turner & Son within the plc.

Philip became a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors at the age of 32 under the Institution’s exceptional achievement criteria. At the heart of the company's success is Philip's guiding principle of focusing absolutely on delivering client requirements.

Anticipating a reduction in UK workload the company decided early in 2008 to explore the possibility of exporting its services to the emerging construction market in Libya. Philip undertook numerous trips during 2008 and 2009 to establish the company’s Tripoli office and legal entity - P H Warr Libya.

David Johnson BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS

Managing Director - South

David Johnson has continually progressed with the company since joining as a graduate in 1994. In January 2007 he was promoted to Deputy Managing Director. David directs the company’s south region from the Southampton office.

He is responsible for projects ranging in values up to £50m for a variety of clients including financial institutions, property developers, airports, local authorities, affordable housing providers, charitable organisations and education establishments. In addition, David oversees the company’s corporate recovery, expert witness, dispute resolution and independent bank monitoring surveying services.

These specialisms have assisted the company in maintaining its activity levels during what is turning out to be a very quiet 2009 for the property and construction industry.

Jonathan Carter BSc (Hons) MRICS

Managing Director - London

Jonathan Carter joined the company in 2000 and is responsible for the London and Brighton offices. His previous experience was with a large multidisciplinary practice in London. He and his team have considerable expertise across several industry sectors including affordable housing, commercial, technology, education, leisure, retail and private residential.

He adopts an approach that ensures all aspects affecting clients and their projects are considered in order to tailor a solution, using both progressive and traditional surveying skills. Jonathan is a keen advocate of industry advancement introducing better health and safety, innovation and sustainable construction methods to clients and projects wherever practicable.

Jonathan's continuing success through the current downturn has been significantly assisted by his expertise in the field of affordable housing in which he is regarded as one of the leading London based practitioners steering some of the major regeneration projects of 2009.

Paula Warburton BA (Hons) ACA

Group Financial Director

Paula Warburton joined P H Warr plc as financial controller of the company in 2004 and has subsequently built the company's corporate team.

Previously she has worked both in industry and private practice as a chartered accountant majoring in the audit arena, gaining invaluable insight into the world of commerce prior to establishing the company's accounts department. Paula became in January 2006 Company Secretary and was promoted to Financial Director in January 2007.

Since becoming Financial Director, Paula has brought great stability to the business and improved the efficiency of the support function - both of which have been critical in assisting P H Warr to improve its competitiveness in the face of the challenging market conditions of 2009.

Quantity Surveying
